Voltaire font
23rd January 2015
|
Voltaire is a modern display font based on illustrations found in an eighteenth-century physics book by the eponymous author. Despite its classic elegance, the font has a unique character and packs advanced typographic features. The letters in the original book are written with a pointed pen following the principles of broad pen writing, then etched in metal, which is rather unusual in itself. Voltaire adopts a slightly squared outline, rectangular strokes and characteristic serifs. This is an elegant font with contemporary look and feel. Voltaire’s spirit is timeless. The font will work well on charts, maps, illustrations, invitations, wine labels, restaurant menus and packaging of pastries and sweets. |
